This is a really superb tawse made in the Authentic Lochgelly style as made by John J Dick and used in schools throughout Scotland until it was banned in State schools 1987 but continued on in fee Paying Schools until it was banned there too in 1998.
it is 23 inches ( 58cm) long, slightly wider than standard 2 tail at 1.5 inches (38mm )wide, it has two 10 inch (25cm) tails and is individuallycrafted from only the finest handpicked leather, all the edges are bevelled , rounded and burnished using original vintage saddlers tools to give "a real authentic look".
