This is a really superb tawse made in the Authentic Lochgelly style as made by John J Dick and used in schools throughout Scotland until it was banned in State schools 1987 but continued on in fee Paying Schools until it was banned there too in 1998.
It is 23 inches ( 58cm) long, slightly wider than standard 2 tail at 1.5 inches (38mm )wide, it has two 10 inch (25cm) tails and is individually crafted from only the finest handpicked leather, all the edges are bevelled , rounded and burnished using original vintage saddlers tools to give "a real authentic look".

MODEL A - £125 (when appropriate hide available) - Very Severe 9+mm thick (23oz|)one layer ,made of Veg Tanned Hide Thick but still flexible. MODEL B - £90 -Severe 5+mm thick (15+oz), one layer made of Stiff & Dense oak bark tanned leather MODEL C - £80- Moderate/Severe 5+mm thick(15+oz), one layer made of Veg Tanned Harness Leather. Fairly flexible
